Lisa Ann Ewald was born in 1979 in Toronto. From her earliest days, she was fascinated by the magic of colours. This talent and enthusiasm resulted in hours of creative time spent in her room drawing, and sketching with pencils and paper. In high school, at the age of 15, she got a taste for acrylics and never looked back. “I am eager to try anything but it’s the vibrant colour and easy manipulation of acrylic paints I love! “ After she graduated from high school, she commenced her studies at Centennial College in Toronto before starting a family.
Moving to a 97-acre hobby farm as a young girl with her parents, the outdoors became her playground, “This is where I learned to appreciate all life including the land,” she has said. “I am inspired by nature, my own evolution as a woman and young mother, and most of all, by music. I believe music finds it way through me and spills onto the canvas to become a visual representation of what I am feeling, -that’s what makes it so personable”
The bright colours and the graceful motion of her characters mark Lisa’s compositions. This is a perfect reflection of her creativity and inner-self. Her varied interests and zest for life is the basis for the large number of different subject matters that she portrays in her work. Her creations keep improving and moving forward as she discovers new corners of herself to express.
Lisa currently resides in Orillia, ON with her partner.
“There is inspiration all around us, embrace it always.”
